  • Our research collaborators and partners include:

    • American Cancer Society NACR partners with the American Cancer Society on its Patient Navigation Initiative and for the American Indian Circle of Life curriculum
    • Center for American Indian Resilience (University of Northern Arizona, Flagstaff).
    • Cancer Trials - A service of the National Cancer Institute NACR provides professional (7 C's) and community "Clinical Trials Education for Native Americans" trainings on clinical trials. The staff assist Native American cancer survivors in finding clinical trials for which the patients are eligible.
    • Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment NACR works with the State Department on Patient Navigation initiatives and programs as well as the Colorado Commission for Health Equity
    • Comanche Nation NACR partnered with Comanche Nation for the "Native Navigators and the Cancer Continuum (NNACC). This was a highly successful education and Patient Navigation intervention that was implemented in 4 Native communities.
    • Denver Indian Health and Family Services Denver Indian Health and Family Services partners with NACR on cancer outreach, screening, support for survivors and community health events.
    • Eduard Gamito (1962-2008)
    • Great Plains Tribal Chairmen's Health Board NACR, NACI and GPTCHB collaborate on multiple cancer prevention, early detection, survivorship supportive care, palliative care and other projects.
      The National Native Network is a network of Tribes, tribal organizations and health programs working to decrease commercial tobacco use and cancer health disparities among American Indians and Alaska Natives (AI/AN) across the U.S.
    • Dr. Linda U. Krebs, University of Colorado College of Nursing and President of OCEAN, an oncology nursing consulting business.
    • Dr. Mark B. Dignan, Prevention Research Center, University of Kentucky. Dr. Dignan and Kate Jones provide external program evaluation and statistical analyses for NACR's federally funded grants.
    • Muscogee (Creek) Nation NACR partnered with the Muscogee (Creek) Nation for the "Native Navigators and the Cancer Continuum (NNACC). This was a highly successful education and Patient Navigation intervention that was implemented in 4 Native communities.
    • Mayo Clinic Native American Programs.
    • Native C.I.R.C.L.E.
      The American Indian/Alaska Native Cancer Information Resource Center and Learning Exchange.
    • Northwest Portland Area Indian Health Board Provides dynamic youth-based website, prevention and early detection programs and
      summer institutes of learning as well as many other community-driven programs.
    • Susan G. Komen for the Cure® has been a major foundation funder for NACR's "Native American Cancer Education for Survivors" (NACES) See 2nd tab on NACR's website.
    • University of Colorado Health Sciences Center and the University of Colorado Comprehensive Cancer Center.
    • Walking Forward Community Research Representatives (CRRs), also known as 'Patient Navigators' work with American Indians living in Rapid City and both Pine Ridge and Rosebud Reservations. Projects include cancer screening, tobacco cessation, physical activity for survivors and many more
    • CDC, NCI, NCMHD Federal Government Agencies. Primarily the National Institutes of Health (National Cancer Institute and National Institute on Minority Health and Health Disparities) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention
