co-morbidities

"Additional health problems" refers to cancer patients who also have some other type of chronic health problem. These include diseases like diabetes, high blood pressure, arthritis, heart disease, and so on. When you have cancer and other health problems, the combination of the two or more diseases may affect how well your treatments work or how well you recover.
